The Sounds of Her Lullaby
The sound of tears falling down her cheecks,
The sound she meets with sleep.
The sound she fears, yet greets,
You might wonder why, but these are the sounds of her lullaby.
The sound of sobs coming from somewhere deep inside.
Explain to me why, you're not there when she cries
don't tell me you care when you're watching her die.
The fear thats in her eyes, you must not see because you're blind.
I won' let her say good-bye, it hurts me that you question why.
These are the sounds of her lullaby.
The sound of her broken heart, that is somehow still beating,
The sound of her in anguish, silently screaming.
She walks slowly with her head hanging down,
Her shoulders are slouched, underneath the burden of all her pain.
She calls out your name, but you dont listen, not because you can't hear,
Because you choose not to....
So, she takes a razor and makes two slits upon her wrists.
She feels the blood grow colder, as it slips down her sleeves and up her shoulders,
As she hangs upside down on her bed, with a million thoughts in her head.
She thinks to herself she'd be better off dead, that the world be a better
place
If it just weren't for her.
After that she doesn't think a word.....
One night I had a dream, she planned it out so carefully.
One Fateful day, she did it, okay, she took her life away.
But guess what.
Now that she is gone, the world remains the same!
The sound of what I said to her, what I should've said before.
I told her about the dream I had, the one in which she died.
I told her how I hated it, when I knew she cried.
And when she asked me why,
I whispered, 'I know about your lullaby.'
The sound of the fluttering of angel wings,
The sound of galliant warriors upon their steeds.
The sound of a whisper, the sound she needs to hear,
The sound of Jesus saying, 'Fear not, my child, I'm near.'
His arms He wrapped around her, He made her feel so dear
He didn't just hug her, He held her, He chased away her fears.
Now you might wonder why, but Jesus, He knew about her lullaby.
The sound of tears, of sobs, of fears.
The sound of silent screams, of pleads.
The sound you might never hear,
The sound forever in my ear.
These, are the sounds of my lullaby.
